Interesting company, prices are pretty good considering they replace all internals and labour included.

Yes I agree, don't touch that Boxxer especially the 2010 - 2011 their good the way they are from info I got. But in old forks like older boxxers or 888's it is worth it.

Both company's use shim stack valves and it can be fine tuned for rider use. Avalanche has a chart on how to re-valve the cartridge yourself if the person is ok with working on internals that is. I emailed Avalanche for info and see what price I can get, maybe write a review on it too who knows.

I'd buy the Avalanche cartridge for $300 including adapters. That's actually a pretty cool deal

That's what I'm going to do but later towards end of August, adapters are not yet available. I mind as well do a complete rebuild on my fork too, change seals and o-rings.

How was the riding tonight?

That's OK, all that hard work for more and better education has been paying off the last few years.

You know how to do that? I have a set of DJ's that need new seals and oil and I don't want to send them to a bike shop and I would love to get to know how to do these things. Are you thinking of running a how to work shop?

Got a reply from the owner of Avalanche, shipping date at the earliest would be mid August and total cost $423 USD plus Taxes & duty which would be anywhere from $60 to 100. Still worth I believe especially that these cartridges are 100% serviceable and can be fine tuned for rider/user. I'll also make an adapter for my top crown in order to be able and use any integrated stem for boxxers.

Drew, I don't do workshops, prefer not to be responsible for someone doing something wrong afterwards and pointing fingers. I rebuild, gut and paint my own forks as with other products also help out friends. I can help you out but not till next month.

By workshop I mean I do the work and you check to see if I screw it up! It would be great if you could point me in the right direction.

That I could do and Marz DJ forks are simple also, actually all Marzocchi with exception of 2008-2009 are simple internals. I even opened up my Manitou Travis, now that's a pain in the ass to reassemble. They use shim stacks as well and a great system but with two seperate oil chambers and picky to have exact oil weight, vlume also to bleed out.
