Nice to be back.

As some might remember I was slowly building a road bike to get back into this discipline. Well I was missing some parts and was setting it up SS till last night when I found a front derailleur and realized my rear roady 105 on the DH rig was in top shape. So guess what, I have a 95% built bike with TT/triathlon handlebars/areo bars and now just missing some shifters to go on the bar ends of my profile bar plus brake cables. I found some bar end shifters on ebay, just need to win a bid and wait till they get here.

Don't know how much more time I have left till the snow gets here but I'll be riding the road bike till then.

Need a roadie helmet too.

Les shifter j'ai besoin vraiment ceux pour allez dans les bouts des tube de mon Profile, je vai faire des longe distance acroupi. LOL

Sur AllezY j'ai un sujet pour le convertir en SS mais non a la place y vas avoir des vitesse pour que je puisse allez dans les montagne des Laurentides.

Triathlon bike

Alright, everything is installed that I have in stock, just need to wait for my shifters and get some brake/shifter cables plus casings.

Bike is Royal blue with white, not certain what color for the cables. I plan on painting it all white with all black componens with the exception of the 2 derailleurs that are silver. Should I go black or white for the casings?

I just won some bar end shifters on ebay and the guy is sending the shifter cables/casings with them to in black for $45 CDN total. They are listed at $110 MSRP so as long as they are in mint condition as described and pictured by the seller I think I got a deal. Should have them next week.

It's been 6 years I'm off any road bike and that is one bike discipline I started on at the age of 16 so I miss it alot. Made some new hanging hooks for 3 more bikes so got space to put in more to my bike storage. Next is an All Mountain bike.

Finally, I just received today my bar end shifters but they need some TLC. One has a rusted screw for the leaver and the other has the rubber coating worn out. But I paid peanuts with shipping compared to new ones and I'll just make a new bolt from SS plus re-coat the leavers with liquid rubber.

Need rollers now for the off season but not certain if I should make them or buy them at $240 CDN.

it's official, I won't get to test ride this bike on the pavement till spring with this good dump of snow. Winter is here and rollers are next.

road bikes ride pretty well in deep snow...thy get to the bottom easily

Hahahaha, yeah good idea but not this bike, staying away from road salt.

Bar end shifters I got used had internal parts all coroded so thats scrap. I went SS instead, sdon't have money for that bike right now and so long as I can ride I don't care. Only need to install brake cables and tune up everything then she's good to go

I tried 18 cog and a 42 ring, it was ok to start with and might just stick with that for now. I need a good riding week t get my cardio, legs and posture back. Sure felt real nice to be back on a roadie but I need to adjust my TT handlebars because their too low for long rides otherwise it rides real smood.

Fuck the single speed, I had my chainline straight and chain with almost no slack at all but it keeps wanting to jump off. Using a cassette to try now and it wants to jump upwards. Took the chain ring off so I can put back both rings on and the deraillers are going back on. Thumb barend shifters are not in great shape the ones I got on ebay but they work for now. So 7-sp for now here we come.

I went from single speed to a rear derailer and 7-speed cogs, front is a single 42 ring and I'm using a bar end thumb shifter. Everything is not top notch but good enough to keep me on the road this season. At the end of the season I'll be rebuilding the bike with good new parts or almost new then train on rollers over the winter months.
