This year I will be riding quite a lot of DH but also I will be trying out some new places for some freeride. Looking forward to get the gang back together and do some great riding, also some good times after the riding.

Bike getting built up slowly

With the schedule out on their site it's obvious now that Bromont open the DH season on Saturday May 8th. I'll give them a call this weekend to find out when the pass is available for purchase.

CheersI'm surprised they're not opening on May 1st (Their normal first Saturday in May), especially since the weather has been so warm...

I was just thinking the same but that could change just the same. I also think they have a set budget to run the place plus no matter how early the snow melts they only start removing certain winter features once the ground is no longer too soft. We only know what we see with our eyes but they have to do quite a bit of maintenance on the lifts, install the bike trays on the chairs and so much more.

99% of chances i'll be there! Can't wait to ride my new bike!

What a strange winter we had and now most of the snow between Montreal and Eastern Townships is almost all gone. March 10th today with a forcast for the next few days at Bromont calls for sunny and 8-9c then on the weekend rain, rain, rain with about 7c. I pretty certain that will take away a massive amount of what's left of snow on the ground plus the ski hills.

I know that major ski hills are always open till Easter at least and that usually counts for quite a lot of business for them. I'm thinking most if not at least half the ski centers will be shut down by then. So the big question is, will Bromont attempt to open before May 8th should the conditions be dry earlier? I would think they might.

I hope they open early (providing that the trails ARE dry) and I think they have a good chance of being dry too...A few years ago, Spring '07 I believe, Danick had just bought mud tires and he was looking forward to testing them on opening weekend. We got there and the trails were not only dry, but wonderfully dusty !!!! He wasn't happy, I was...

With this weather and some heavy rain expected in their area this weekend thats pretty much going to kill day passes for skiing.

Going to make a rack to put bikes in the Pick-up box. The bikes are up in the garage attic because I have to much shit in the garage at the moment. Quad, snowblower and BBQ.

Who knows, if it is going to be 10 deg C today, I might at least take down Donkey!!!!

41 days to go before the DH season starts and the way things are with the weather it should be dry. Who's going opening weekend? I'm not certain yet and depends if I have my kayak ready or not that weekend. If my kayak is ready and tested I'm off on a trip otherwise I'll go riding at Bromont one day that weekend.

Hopefully I'll be there. I'll do what I can to make sure that weekend is free so I can RIDE !!!!
